Walter Jay M.D. Institute is an Educational Center, which was founded by Dr. Walter Jayasinghe and Prasanna Silva. The Staff of the Institute are highly skilled and motivated experts who are dedicated to providing training in the necessary skills to enable students to begin a rewarding and fulfilling career within the medical profession.

The trust of local employers has been achieved based on the performance of the graduates we have put into the community since 1994.

Our statement of purpose is to "To provide skilled based education that will prepare our graduates for employments in entry level positions".

We firmly believe that education makes all the difference and students are capable of learning through a combination of school and community thus improving the quality of local life by way of practical training and instruction of a life enriching nature. Vocational Nursing, Medical Assisting, Massage Therapy and English as a second language are just some of the courses available at Walter Jay M.D. Institute.

Students are instructed on how to interact with not only the patient, but the patient's family and cultural factors and we are proud to say our students have achieved this when they have proven themselves to be amongst the finest employees of the Los Angeles Community.

Prospective students are encouraged to come along to our campus at 501 Shatto Place, Suite 120 Los Angeles, California 90020 and to meet our admissions advisor prior to enrolling for a course.

The applicant must be a high school graduate or equivalent: high school diploma, General Education Development Certificate (GED) or state proficiency certificate, college transcript or college diploma or have an interview with the school administrator to ensure "Ability to Benefit" criteria is met.
